★★★★★Climbing in Montreal is a sacred thing. I don’t know who decided that this city would sport the best climbing gyms in North America, but I thank the lord they did. In terms of bouldering, having been a patron of as many gyms as possible, in as many countries as possible, none are on par with the Bloc shop. Sure it can get crowded at peak hours, but the space is about as nice as you could possible get for bouldering. The routes are constantly changing and interesting for everyone from the best climber to your first timer mom and dad. The staff are Montrealers, so a good mix of hip, nice, smart and arrogant. The prices are competitive, the location is fine and to top it all off, the chalk is free. Seriously, if you are looking for a gym in montreal, membership or one time thing, go here.

★★★★★This is an amazing bouldering gym. There are numerous routes and even if it gets extremely busy in there, you’ll always find an area of the gym to work on. Great for beginners (you can rent shoes) and advanced climbers alike. The gym is also very clean which is nice. There is a cafe section where you can buy some drinks and snacks which is handy too. The staff is really friendly and they have great warmup and stretching areas too. There are bicycles and weights, bars and mats. Changing rooms have lockers and showers. Only downside is the location which can be hard to access if you don’t live in Hochelaga but that’s understandable for how large the space is. Since it’s a bigger gym, there is less of a community feel than smaller ones but I saw there are a variety of events and comps which might strengthen that aspect if you’re looking for more of a community. Overall, great place!

★★★★★Went to this gym during a trip to Montreal and it was great! Lots of different options for routes and options for all levels of climbing. They have a good little cafe attached to the front desk as well which is great when you want to take a break from climbing for a bit. They use the V system here instead of using a colour system like a lot of the other gyms I’ve been to which is great and it’s my personal preference for grading.

★★★★★I haven't been to all bouldering gyms in Montreal, but this one is my favourite. It has a friendly atmosphere and problems for all levels. There is a conditioning area with stationary bikes and a free weights area to warm up. I love that they also make good coffee and sell food from Aux Vivres at reasonable prices, so you can have a break if you spend a lot of time at the gym.

★★★★★An ideal place to bring the kids or come with friends. Bloc Shop offers diverse wall structures for multiple difficulties. You get a full body workout. There is even a gym section to workout and stretch your muscles. The place promote health with their vegan food options and smoothies. A live DJ plays music to place the beat. People really get into the culture of bouldering and help one another. Also, a great place to meet people. There is even an En Masse collaboration wall illustration.
